Transmission noise
Has anyone else had this problem? Does the rebuild cure the problem or does Ford have a problem with these transmissions?

If you use ECO, the Trans will upshift 1 to 3 to 5, then on up, depending on how much throttle you apply.
Gears 8, 9 and 10 are all overdrive gears.
They should not bang up or down shifting.
If that is happening the shift timIng is out or the fluid line pressure is to high, for some reason.
In Wet/Snow mode, the shift pattern will also change.
In Tow Mode the gears will hang on longer before shifting for obvious reasons. A load is expected to be attached.
In M mode, you can up and down shift with the control button depending on where it's located. On the column lever or the floor shifter side buttons.
Good luck.
Ford put in a re-manufacture transmission which made it worse. Then the rebuild the re-manufacture and is was still bad. Then they tried again to rebuild the re-manufacture transmission and then it horrible. My under standing from reading is the bushings on the CDF clutch pack failing on many of the 10 speeds transmission. I had about 45k on my f150.
I hope your services center is better then mine.
For 2023 my trucks was in the shop for 3 car payments. Ford did not fight us on the buy back. I am watching to see when ford will find a permanent fix for 10 speed.
How many miles on yours.

This is just my opinion, partly based on a bad experience in our Navigator. The Ford/GM 10 speed is over complicated, and combined with poor build quality I just don't see this transmission providing a long service life. It's the 5.4 3V of transmissions. Hopefully the aftermarket will respond with parts to beef it up, there will be a market with millions in service already.
Ford recently acknowledged that they have quality control issues. The first step is admitting you have a problem, and I commend them for that. Warranty claims for them have been through the roof in the last several years. Let's hope that the steps they take toward solving the QC issues work. My first step would be to simplify wherever possible. These trucks are getting very complicated and tech heavy. I'll take reliability over unnecessary complication any day.
How hard is it to make a reliable transmission? The automatic has been offered in Ford trucks since 1953, 70 years! You'd think they could get it right by now. Ford has had many excellent transmissions in the past. Then there's other things in these trucks. A moon roof that breaks easy, Ford has been offering them in various vehicles for over half a century then suddenly come 2015, they can't build a reliable one. The APIM failure in Sync3 radios are another example of poor craftsmanship. Again, I hope Ford take quality very seriously. I would really like my next truck to be a Ford, but I wouldn't buy a new Ford today.
That having been said. My 3.5 EcoBoost/6 speed auto 2015 F150 (XLT no moonroof) has been excellent. It's the best truck I ever bought new, and I've owned a lot of trucks over the years.
