I have a 2000 ford excursion 7.3 and recently my driver window stopped working. I notice when I turn the truck on before I crank it the windows don't work they used to before. I have to wait like 30 seconds then a chime goes off sounds like under the dash and the trim lights come on and all my windows works except the driver one. If I press the driver side switch a couple of times it trips a relay or something and lose the trim lights and other windows. I know it's not the motor because I put a 12v battery to it and it goes up and down. I also got a used master switch from eBay and that didn't work either. Has this happen to anyone ?
the power to the windows is controlled thru a relay in the cluster gauge panel,
have you followed the Schematic for that?
No I didn't know there was one in the gauge cluster, thank you.. I figured after checking everything must be a bad gem module since when I turn the truck on I have a delay on my wipers too because my windows and wipers don't work after 30 seconds of turning on the truck
That's not correct. The GEM module is piggy backed to the fuse box (referred to as the "Central Junction Box"), located behind the removable service panel under the steering wheel at your knees, and handles all the general electronics functions. The central junction box has the battery saver relay, later moved to the instrument cluster 2002 and forward, interior lamp relay, one touch drivers window relay, accessory delay relay, and more. A common issue might be chaffed/broken wires in the rubber body to door accordion boot. The 2001 diagrams are the same for the 2000, but the wire colors, and some or all plug colors are different between 2000, and 2001.
