UNinstall DVD headrests

I have a 2012 Expedition EL, XLT. It has factory DVD headrests. Neither of them are working and my kids don't really need them. I'd like to uninstall them. I realize I can just cut the wires, but I'd rather uninstall them so I could reinstall if I came across some that worked. I've looked for install videos etc online and just can't find anything that addresses factory install and definitely not factory uninstalls.
Basically I want to know where I can disconnect the wiring. Can you disconnect inside the headrest or do I need to trace it back somewhere?
Thanks

Are you replacing the headrests? As far as I've seen the cables go all the way down the seat, but they should unplug from the units back side.
