Just wanted to say hi and thank everyone for all the awesome info on here. I picked up a 92 F-250 4x4 for 3 grand a couple weeks ago. Pic of the good side below. The bad side has sideswipe damage on every panel. The door closes and the frame is straight but I've got a lot of hammer and dolly time ahead of me. So far I've changed tires, fluids and filters, deleted the smog pump and had someone who knows what they're doing fix the drums in the rear. They were flat out dangerous on the drive home.
The 351 is running good and the trans seems solid so far. The previous owner was a heavy smoker so I pulled all the old insulation out, replaced it with dynamat and steamed the bench seat and the headliner. Smell is totally gone as far as I can tell. Next on my list is a windshield and then pulling the ECM to see if I have any capacitor leakage. This thing rides like crap but it's a hell of a lot of fun to drive so maybe a front coil conversion in the future. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to lots of time learning on here.
I think so? It's tough to say because I redid the weather stripping on the doors but everything is definitely quieter now. One good tip I learned is to wait for a sunny day to apply the dynamat. The glue works way better when it can warm up in the sun and the application surface is a little warmer.
For the ride, you might try replacing the plastic slippers between the leaves first. They wear out and bind-
I put new front springs on, and it got a lot better, but then realized that the stock sliders were completely
worn out, and the leaves had galled together.
There is universal material to replace the sliders, but I didn't have any luck finding the OE Ford versions.

Thanks! Do you mind providing a link if you have one? I'm doing some googling for leaf spring slippers but I'm not sure I'm finding the right thing.
Welcome! Thats a nice looking truck. Does the dynamite make the cab quieter then with stock insulation?
When I did the carpet and head liner in my F150, is scraped the old sound mat out, and replaced it with Stinger X, I got the extra thick pad and carpet, deadened the doors and ceiling. Made a ton of difference. Also did all of the weather striping, so that didn't hurt.
