I watch 1 and 4 on my main screen, along with the regen status (just in case I forget to turn it back off or something...) I always wait for EGT1 to get back down to at least 400F before shutting the truck off. Here is my main screen:
And if I am actually in a regen, here is the screen I monitor for it.
I set my left bank up with 1/1-4 and wi run with that a little and probably do the 1/1 and 1/4. It looks like they are close to 1/2 and 1/3 in temps. Will know more once I start towing.
Not going to touch the right side, but which EGT probes should I monitor for towing? I have 1 & 3 now.
On your bottom right screen.....DPF SL, is that telling you the soot is 49% full or 49% cleaned. Sorry if its a dumb question. I did a small 150 mile road trip today, and mine read 30% when I started and upon arriving home its at 45%. And also the REGEN screen says off on mine.......will is say ON when a regen begins?

Not a dumb question...
It means truck is reading 49% full for soot load.
When the truck goes into an active regen, the status will go to ACT and ON, flashing between the two, if you have the most recent update 1.24 or close to it.
Tank you sir, it does have the latest version (1.24). I will be towing heavy Sunday morning for six hours, so I look forward to watching a regen. in progress. I'm the original owner of the truck and have added DEF fluid many times, but I never witnessed/noticed a regen occurring lol.

You're welcome and you will now...

Interesting...care to elaborate? I ask because on my old '97 7.3 would read an occasional 1250* F on long hills, egt sensor was mounted just outside the turbo exhaust outlet, not the manifold. I realize these are two different engines.
When I say EGT's above 800 I am referring to EGT1/4, after the DPF. Heavy towing needs to be in that area and above to burn more soot than you are producing.
Anything above 572° will do a passive regen. As Senix says, Something around 800° and your passive regen is consuming more soot than the truck is producing.
Hence I can haul tow my horses cross state and have a lower % in my filter than when I started and did not do an active regen. Just the extra heat of towing is burning off the soot trapped in the DPF.
During an active regen you will see 1100° plus temps as the engine pump extra fuel into the exhaust system
