Happy May! It looks like we are going to get a wet week up here. The guessers are predicting an inch of rain this week with the majority tonight and tomorrow.
The rain has started in San Francisco. It's wet outside.
I finally got a 5G phone. I didn't need it. Yet. Eventually, 4 G phones will be phased out. So eventually, I will need it. My cellular service provider has a trade-in program. So the phone was free. The guy at the cell phone store advised me that they will take anything on those trade-in programs. He told me that I could trade in anything, even something old, obsolete, broken, and not working. You bet. I have a bunch of really old, obsolete phones. I traded in a museum quality antiquity. I gave them a flip phone. The phone that I was using was a smart phone. Even without a SIM card, it can still be used to surf the web, watch videos, listen to music, etc. I can also use it with a prepaid SIM card...... in case I need a "burner" phone.
With any luck, this 5G phone will be good for the next 5 years or so.
When I got tired of the government phones problems, I switched to Xfinity Mobile because I already had their cable/Internet bundle. They had a "free" Galaxy A13 5G phone. IIRC it was $300 at the time, but if I signed up for a two-year program, they would give me a credit each month that was the exact amount of the monthly payment. I have their cheapest data option of pay by the gig which is only $15 a month. I don't use it to stream video or music, since I have four computers here that I can do that with, Works out great for my current financial situation,

They will NOT phase out 4G. The biggest issue with 5G is the range. It has trouble going more than a couple hundred yards, and there is too much USA to cover to put a 5G antenna every few hundred yards. So, in reality, 5G will be a mostly urban thing where they can put a 5G antenna on every corner. And that will only be in the cities with enough population to support it. Otherwise, it will be 4G, or a derivative that operates on the same frequencies.
As for rain, we are getting plenty for the 1st 2 days of May (so far)
I found something growing in my yard, where nothing was planted. I found an app which is supposed to identify plants. I may have gotten lucky. I wonder how long it takes to get a consumable crop.
Here in Chinatown, where The Warriors will beat L.A., it's now dry. We got a decent amount of rain. It will help with my unplanned cannabis grow.
For game night, I made a brisket. I'm not a fan of well done beef. You can't eat rare brisket. This brisket was tender, juicy, and had a rich flavor. Sliced thin, against the grain, it melted in my mouth.
Don't think we got much rain last night. It was only sprinkling lightly when I came home from Bible study at 8pm or so. And the clouds were dispersing.
Good news for car buyers. The electric Mustang went down in price.
According to the weather app, we got over an inch of rain. I am guessing that is good for May. This will really kickstart my fortuitous, unplanned cannabis operation. Does anyone know how to grow and use it? I could use a few pointers.
