I don't know if we hit 100 today or not. I stayed indoors all day. However, it is 89 right now at 10:20pm, so chances are we hit 100. If not, then pretty darn close to it.
Everytime I have pancakes, I think of that story about Prince, playing basketball and serving pancakes. Pancakes are a real luxury item. Getting the batter "just right", without a recipe or measurements. Everything by eye and feel. I wanted something more substantial than bacon. I wanted beef. Short ribs. Flanken style. This is what fortifies me for a night of drinking.
From what I recall, Aunt Jemima brand was discontinued several years ago. At least here in The USA. So whatever they are shipping must be past the "sell by" date. Or they are getting Aunt Jemima brand from another country. Are people buying it as a "collector's item"?
Well, the price of syrup must somehow be related to what is happening to our society.
I thought things were bad here in California. Sure, we have our issues, and we all have a different perspective. I can't believe what is happening in Chicago. The job is done. A nation has been divided. The line has been drawn in the sand, and people are proudly standing next to it to show which side they are on. An entire community has risen up, and taken a stand, against immigration. An African American community is now waiving signs that say "BUILD THE WALL". They have figured out that the government does not rain down free money. Spending money on assisting undocumented migrants has to come from somewhere. This community is fighting for the resources allocated towards assisting illegal immigration. They want those resources for themselves.
