The only parts that did not fit are the radius arms. The mounting position on the axle has changed. That tells me me that the suspension is nearly the same. That's not to say that there couldn't be some geometry changes that help mitigate DW.
I had a 2020 F350 CCSB diesel and I have a 2023 F350 CCSB diesel and I can tell you it rides better, less feedback into the steering wheel on the 2023. The radius arms are different on the 23s...I have heard that maybe Ford put different caster into the 2023 axle which has improved the suspension.

the reason you dont hear much of it today could be for several reason. was it 2yr ago the trucks were lowered which may of helped. theres been 3 or so steering damper revisions which may of helped. front end parts suppliers may have changed which could of helped
I wasn’t implying that it wasn’t a real thing, but that since I’ve been here (about 2 years now) there hasn’t really been anything much posted about it, at least for the newer models. And yes, the 20+ models had some changes and they sit lower than the 17 - 19’s.

All these threads and posts about tough SD solid front axle death wobble. I’ve never heard of GM IFS with death wobble.

GM IFS was famous for broken suspensions. They pretty finally fixed that in 2011

The only thing GM change in 2011 was they went from a two piece cast aluminum front differential housing to a one piece cast iron one.

I had a ‘94 1/2 ton and a ‘04 3/4 ton that I put 115k miles on each. Both were used off pavement and never had any problems.

GM IFS are fine as long as you don’t abuse them and don’t run super over sized tires.

The 2011 GM HD's have different upper and lower control arms, ball joints, knuckles, torsion bars, hubs, shocks, CV joints and shafts, steering box and linkage compared to the 2010 and earlier HD's. Everything is heavier and much stronger. The split front AAM 9.25" HD diff. housing was replaced by a one piece with cover design that is still aluminum but again much stronger. Doesn't even mount to the frame the same way. They fixed it good, too bad nothing fits the older GM HD's.

Both GM IFS trucks I owned and all of them owned by friends and family went through cv shafts much more frequent than any parts on a solid axle. Pre-unit bearings, especially the kingpin Dana 60s are pretty durable. Especially if you upgraded them to 35 spline stub shafts, Spicer non-greasable u-joints and all metal lockouts. What can you do to beef up the GM IFS?

I was smart enough to read the pattern of death wobble disappearing on newer trucks and threads like this one are the only thing keeping the fear around by continuing to talk about it like it's still a relevant issue.

Hate to brake it to you but you’re on one now.

You are suffering from a condition that’s called “DEATH WOBBLE DENIAL”. There are currently 454 death wobble threads on the SD forums, it’s a epidemic.

So if SD solid front axles are so tough why is there so much talk about death wobble on here?

Why so many threads? Well, because people generally are not very smart... Caster has always been the main issue. It was a much larger issue before changes were made. It has always been EASY to fix but the internet comes up with so many snake oil "cures" it takes 454 threads to figure out you just need to dial in more caster with your front lift. It has been this way for ever with solid axle trucks. It certainly isn't enough incentive for me to drive a GM. My 900 lb snow plow would likely make short work of a GM IFS compared to how long components last for me on a D60. I know a guy whole blew apart a CV joint running tire chains in a place where I have been running them on Fords for years without issue. Everybody's experiences are different, GM's are super popular in the midwest flatlands. When I show up to snowmobile in the mountains with my buddies in the trades, the lots is FULL of super duty Fords. Trucks that run back and forth over the mtn passes daily. GM's are pretty rare around here. I think I know why, you think you know better, who really cares?

So what? This forum has 34000 topics with over half a million posts.

Tell me how many trucks were sold and of that how many have death wobble, an issue that plagues every vehicle.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I just haven't really seen any reports of DW, at least around here. Sure, I haven't read all the threads, but it seems to me like the earlier models may have had more issues with DW than the newer models do... Sure, there are lots of YT videos about DW, but it seems to be talked about more than actually happening. Kind of like the CP4's on the diesels.
Mine developed DW in March of this year, at about 28k miles. The dealership examined the front end, the steering stabilizer was leaking fluid. A new upgraded stabilizer was installed under warranty. When that fails I will turn to the aftermarket for something a little more robust.
