2004 F350 Wireless Keypad

Hey everyone,

I just got a new to me 2004 F350. It has a wireless keypad on the door but the buttons are worn and the membrane is busted.. so I ordered a new wireless keypad but the new updated one they sent me doesn’t seem to be compatible for some reason. I was wondering if anyone had got one of the newer models and got it to work with pre 2007 f series trucks. Any help would be appreciated!

Do you know the factory code and it still doesn't work?

Or are you needing to find the factory code to see if it works?

Does this newer model keypad fit the cutout in the door?

I have the factory code. It’s the wireless one though, part number 3L2Z-14A626-AA. However when you try to order that the new model, KB3Z-14A626-A is what they send.

The one that is on there is just wore out and only works intermittently. It’s a stick on one with no cutout. I took the door panel off and it doesn’t look like I have the wiring for a wired one.

The problem is that the new wireless keypad seems to only work with 2007 and newer and won’t pair with my truck. I didn’t know if someone else had run into this problem and if they had descovered a work around

The wireless one pairs exactly like a key fob, so you just do the same action that you do to pair a key fob. I think that's turn the key on and off 8 times within 10 seconds, ending in RUN. The door locks cycle. Press buttons 7/8 and 9/0 together. Push lock on any other keyfobs you have so they continue working. Turn ignition off. Locks cycle again.

Just making sure this is the process you followed, the important thing is you follow the proper procedure to get the truck into pairing mode

I did the pairing process. I was able to pair the key fobs I have, and the wireless keypad that is on the door now. The new model won’t pair at all though

I managed to change the battery on the original.. the problem is that the original must be close to 20 years old now.. the silicon buttons are torn and the unlock code only works maybe 10-25% of the time

Call the parts department at Autonation Ford White Bear lake tomorrow. They have one of the largest Ford parts warehouses in north America and they're very knowledgeable on what part works with what vehicle, and may even hage some of the older keypads kicking around. This isn't your normal dealer parts department, they have their own full size warehouse with multiple loading docks a few blocks from the dealership just for parts.
