'65 352/C6 kick down linkage

I don't know where to start this thread, so I'm starting here.

I looked at the Lokar kit and the carb linkage they show is completely different than what I have. I believe this carb is off a early 80-ish 460 truck. It works perfect; I haven't touched it in 10 years easy. Here's what I have:

Thoughts for a kick down linkage?

Your only real choice is Lokar or Summits knock offs. But you will have to use their throttle cable and brackets to make it work. Finding a kickdown rod and the correct kickdown lever for that combination would be near impossible. Making a rod is an exercise in futility since the geometry involved is complicated and it has to be precisely the right length to work combined with the correct kickdown lever on the trans.

No C6's until 1968 and then only with 360/390. 1965/67 F100/350 352 used MX Cruise-O-Matic

I bought one of these. Haven’t installed it yet. I’m sure I can adjust it if it is off a bit.

The transmission is out of a '70 and replaced the original COM. Lokar or similar is not even close even if you buy their throttle linkage. They hang the kick down linkage off the bottom of the carb throttle, my carb is not like that. See Lokar installation visual...

The Lokar is expecting the throttle to pull the cable from the bottom of the throttle shaft. The Ford setup is pushing the rod from the top. Just like a rope, you can't push a cable.

The transmission hookup is a winner, but I need both ends to work.

Look around on Lokars and Holley's websites, they have all sorts of add on parts to adapt to different carbs. You might be able to use a Ford type kickdown rod if your transmission has the correct kickdown lever. I would think any F100 or 150 that had a 360/390 with a C6 would work. But the height of your manifold and carb would have to be the same as the donor or it won't work.

I’m probably missing something, but I don’t see how the Lokar setup won’t work. The throttle arm can be drilled out in a different location if needed.
