Technically since the cases are able to house t9 internals could you put a ford t98 or t9 input shaft into a jeep t98 to get the right input shaft length?
Or is there something i am forgetting here?
The T-98 comes in many flavors, many of the differences visibly external including the mounts, shafts and whatnot. Internally there was also a change in direction of the helical cuts in the helical gears. This also means the PTO attachments won't transfer between.
However, there are International, Jeep, and various other industrial applications with their own variations. One is better off to find a match to their needs than attempt a cobble. But it certainly would be nice if there was a recipe book that would show the makeup and interchangeability between variants as I certainly don't grasp it all.
Agree^^^^. Would be kind of neat to investigate the internals if one had a collection, and see about input shafts, and whether it would be possible to “move” mounting studs, etc.
