I've got one of these kits sitting in my garage to go on my '22 XLT.....when I can squeeze the truck into the garage, or in the spring is when it'll be completed as it's too cold out to goof with it now. LOL
I was wondering how your install went? Did everything fit ok on your F350? I have a 2020 F350 w/ 6.7 and wanting to do the hidden winch install as well. I was thinking of the Badlands Apex, but rough country also has a 12K for a little less than the Apex is on sale for now? I contacted rough country a year ago and they couldn't tell if it it fit or not. They weren't much help at all. I appreciate any info you can provide.
Marty
So did you try the Apex 12000 from HF? Did you have to modify the hidden winch base or fairlead to fit the Apex 12k from HF?

Reason: For clarification
Sounds good in theory; however, you need to figure out the new location on a 2020+ and then figure out if the place you need to move it to is also occupied by something else that may also need to be relocated. On the older trucks, much easier to either install a bumper with a mount or use a portable cradle.
The warn system can't work on a 240AMP alternator, it has to be the dual alternators, or 320AMPS total.
Incorrect. You can run the winch with the engine off (but you'd run the battery down pretty fast). I have 5 winches, four 12K and one 20K (20K on the front of my F-600 4x4, 12K in the bed). My TJR alternator puts out max 117 amps and I run the 12K frequently. It's powered by the battery and the alternator slows down the discharge. Most recoveries aren't that long and I always use a doubler which halfs the amp load.
The F-600 with dual batteries and dual alternators can't quite keep up with the 20K winch at full load, but it comes close.
I see that rough country has a hidden winch mount : https://www.roughcountry.com/hidden-...unt-51119.html
It says it's for the F250 2020-2022. I called and asked if it would work on an F350. They said they do not know, and they have no real interest in finding out.
I'm thinking about getting it done, can anyone describe any reason why it wouldn't work between the F250 and the F350? This is my first ford, so I don't know a whole lot about them, but I know the bumpers are the same.
I appreciate any feedback any of you have!
Thanks!
As a hard core off road guy, why would you want a hidden winch or a factory bumper?

I think the main reason is saving money not getting an aftermarket winch bumper for the winch. They write about this setup having it's own winch tray, and assuming that's bolted to the frame, it should be as secure as most aftermarket winch bumpers. I missed reading how they access the winch clutch lever though. The Ford factory winch setup is very expensive, and it sounds like this setup they're talking about here will be much less expensive.
