I see that rough country has a hidden winch mount : https://www.roughcountry.com/hidden-...unt-51119.html
It says it's for the F250 2020-2022. I called and asked if it would work on an F350. They said they do not know, and they have no real interest in finding out.
I'm thinking about getting it done, can anyone describe any reason why it wouldn't work between the F250 and the F350? This is my first ford, so I don't know a whole lot about them, but I know the bumpers are the same.
The factory ford.option works on the 250/350 except for the 4.10 max tow dually 350 and f450 because of a cooler in the space.
Its possible the the 350 with a higher tow rating has a cooler where the 250 doesn't. Gas vs diesel would make a difference as well. More room in the grill on the gas trucks.

The warn system can't work on a 240AMP alternator, it has to be the dual alternators, or 320AMPS total.
Man, that setup is exactly what I've been looking for, thanks for the link!
Their pro winch is a little expensive, compared to other manufacturers and models, but I'll likely buy the mount with the winch, just to guarantee that everything fits without issue.
Thanks again, this is a very affordable hidden winch option.
I was only referring to what would occupy the physical space for the winch to mount.
I see and understand what you're saying now.
Yeah, if the warn system works for both then any other mount should too, that's pretty good logic.
Rough country says it works with gas or diesel, but the way you've put it, it makes sense.

The factory winch option requires dual alternators and batteries but that has no bearing on the aftermarket. The 240 amp alternator should be more than sufficient for recreational winch use.

Where did that info come from? Many folks run a winch with less amps. It just gets hotter faster and is not as effective. Ford pushes the upgrade but to be honest, the winch needs around 470 amps at a full 12k pull and you’re still short, not to mention the cables that are supplied are only giving you about 225 amps anyway. If you want a winch for looks or light duty, the factory setup serves most folks. If you have regular heavy winching to do, you need to look at a different setup. You can always run ****** blocks to help it out.
Just ordered (2021 F350 6.7L). My plan is to try with the 12k Apex Badlands from HF...
I was wondering how your install went? Did everything fit ok on your F350? I have a 2020 F350 w/ 6.7 and wanting to do the hidden winch install as well. I was thinking of the Badlands Apex, but rough country also has a 12K for a little less than the Apex is on sale for now? I contacted rough country a year ago and they couldn't tell if it it fit or not. They weren't much help at all. I appreciate any info you can provide.
