what vehicle do you have? What's your code? Sounds more like the DPFE sensor.

It most likely means your DPFE sensor is kapoot
There are a few quick pinpoint tests you can perform
None of us can be of much help not knowing what you are driving or the exact code
Pinpoint test steps have you checking the hoses back and forth from the EGR tube /manifold to the DPFE sensor and then some voltage tests
You need the exact code so you do not end up chasing your tail on the diagnostics
