HPOP line fitting O-ring concern
A couple weeks ago I was on my way home around midnight, driving through a greasy part of town, and the fothermucker blew out AGAIN.
Naturally as I was driving up a hill, so there goes even more oil than usual. Let me put it this way how bad of area I was in... I'm pretty sure the oil actually made the ground it leaked onto MORE clean than it was, but I digress...I finally am able to limp it home around 3am, and I am NOT happy.
So I start to assess the situation with regards to getting a new pump... at first I considered getting it towed to a shop nearby, which according to repairpaldotcom they would do it for parts+labor at 968 bucks.
I was more than a bit skeptical, cause by my estimation that's what most places would charge for either the part or the labor, not both. So I called the place the next day attempting to get them to confirm the quote, cause I sure as hell wasn't gonna pay for a tow there, have them try to bend me over a barrel then charge me for the barrel, just to have to get it towed back home.
So I talked to the lead mechanic, and he said he would get back to me. He never got back to me lol.
I am 85 percent sure that price quote was probably with regards to the LOW pressure oil pump, which was not specified by the repairpal site, they just said "oil pump".Now I am still an extremely novice mechanic, 100 percent. I have a lot of tools, which is always half the battle, but I'm not under any foolish impression of my skills/abilities.
Fortunately for me, DeadHeadDiesel had an excellent HPOP REMOVAL FOR DUMMIES step-by-step write up all the way from disconnecting batteries through bleeding the air out of the system. After finding the HPOP that I wanted (CNC FABRICATION Stage 1) and exchanging a couple emails with Eric From CNC Fab (who is an awesome dude and basically said that I could call or email him 24/7 if I had any hiccups during installation, great guyHere are some pictures from the process! It went about as smoothly as anyone could ask for, and my truck is back on the road running like a champ! No more gritting my teeth every time the RPM would rise above 2000, no more avoiding the freeway. And maybe best of all, I did installation by myself! Didn't have to go see my buddy or his moody steed.

Took time to clean up valley while waiting for new pump to come in mail.
The little troublemaker responsible for oh so much rage.
Kinda hard to tell with all the Loctite goobed up in there, but the right side's threads were just not capable of cutting the mustard any longer.
The new pump in place, with the hoses attached nice and tight to the STEEL THREADED ports!
All buttoned back up = me a happy camper!
The seller originally bought them to have as back up lines but never needed them, and doesn't have the truck anymore.
I was like "uh, yeah. Gimme dem lines!"

I guess it's true what they say... "every dog has it's day."
