This is what my 4 days of work produced. 64 crewcab, 87 frame, 2001 powerstroke. A bunch of time cleaning the frame, taking all the excess off. Biggest part was getting the motor mounts to fit the new frame. This has been in the back of my mind for a long time, just never had the time to do it. unfortunately I have to put it on the back burner for a while. I have a harness being built so it will be a stand alone. This is just a mock up and yes it has the wrong grill. This clip is a spare. I have more trucks on the back burner. Notice the rare option of hood springs on the front that a PO put on lol

Ford introduced their first factory assembled Crew Cabs mid-year 1965. All previous Crew Cabs were aftermarket conversions, some by Crown Coach.
This info was gleaned from the late Dave Garber (garbz2), who knew Crew Cabs.
You better hurry. Having spent a couple of summers sitting on a fire airplane in Jean it won't be long until it's 110 in the shade there and looks like you don't have any.
I had a 65 crew cab and the rear doors had exposed hinges. Mine was done by a conversion company. Your concealed rear door hinges make me suspect this a late 65 or 66 cab. But I’m no expert.
Thrifty: You're off to a great start! I'm jealous!!
BTW: Could you post a side shot, and if possible a rear shot of the cab?
I ask because the only crewcab trucks I've see with a 360 degree driprail (ie: it goes ALL the way around the cab) are on the '65 & '66 trucks produced IN-house by Ford.
And yes, the Crown Coach built cabs had exposed hinges on the rear door, but the Stageway built crewcabs did not. And that's only TWO companies there were were many more than two companies doing this type of work........

We had talked about my truck years ago, it was winter, and you didn't want to pull the tarp off yours cuz I wanted to see something, i dont remember what that was. I posted a pic of the rear and the cab and roof. My roof has ribs in it and it caught your attention. No the drip rail doesn't go all the way around.
I was going to put the truck in the back this weekend, but this may change I have to adjust the frame maybe 3 inches. I won't know until I get things more in place. I have a super cool radiator and an intercooler to put in place so I can determine how much of the firewall needs attention.
So much has changed for this truck. First it was going to be a shortbed, then I went a completely different direction with drive train. I am happy with the changes.
The floorboards of this truck are great shape. The front cab mounts are in bad shape. I have had the new replacements for years. Thats the only real issue this truck has.
Thrifty: I have some vague recollection of that, the ribbed roof sounds familiar. But I don't remember if it was here, in forum posts, by PM, or on one of the other channels??
I did a quick look for posts, didn't find anything (but the search engine on this platform is not great).....and nothing saved in my inbox or outbox....
