Stupid Question.....

I have lots of them....this may not be the right place for this one but, I've lost one of the spring clips that hold the end caps on my factory air cleaner, My question is can they be had new from Motorcraft? or is that something that needs to be sourced some other way? These vehicles are getting to be long in the tooth and chassis parts are starting to be harder to come by. I put this question here because you guys seem to have the answers I need but if it belongs on another part of the site, please let me know that also. Thanks.

...As usual, I did a search and ebay has them by the hundreds, new and/or used, both Motorcraft or Chinesium knock offs...I found them as cheap as $11.00 and as high as $22.00 dollars so disregard my stupid question. The more you buy the cheaper per item they are.

Just as an FYI:
Air filter latches (Air Filter Cleaner Clamp Intake Box Cover Lid Clip)
6C2Z-9628-AA
6M6Z 9628-AA

Hopefully people don't pay $12 apiece for them (assuming "these are what you are meaning").

We constantly post the part numbers and links to the better on-line dealerships ......... hoping that future searches for reasonably priced parts will easily provide the best OEM prices! Even better than chinesium apparently.

Thanks Bismic, $11.72 shipped to me from your people, I paid $12.51 shipped from the guy I bought one from, so a single was was a wash. I suppose if Id have bought some spares they would have been cheaper per. Which probably wouldn't have been a bad idea. It's just I've never lost any before so I wasn't thinking about spares.

Good point on shipped! One thing you can do is go through FordParts.com and get them (that way they are sent free to the dealership of your choice).

Also, I show these prices to local dealerships and they almost always will drop their price by 15%, sometimes 30%.

Small cheap parts that might get the total cost terribly inflated by shipping are a perfect "application" to consider FordParts.com.

Just checked FordParts.com and I can pick them up at a local dealership for $7.83 (actually they are in-stock). Discount price, no shipping fee. You do have to pay tax.

Anyone can sign up (free) and use FordParts.com.

That's a great price, I never dreamed ford would stock them....many other vehicles may use them?
I will remember that if I ever need another, Thanks.

You certainly do NOT need them to be from Ford. Rock Auto has them for $4.50 or so, but then there is the shipping cost and time.
