HelpSo I had an issue with my 2006 6.0 recently, I was driving it to work one morning and it lost power several time , no fun trying to steer it with those 40’s ,finally made it to work and I had several codes come up on my Edge CT3 programmer . So I changed the fuel pump and the fuel filter and it ran fine for about a week or so then it started doing it again shortly after that. I was talking to a friend at work and he suggested disconnecting the ICP harness and see if that fixes it and that was the problem so I thought , so the other day I was coming home from the gym and I lost power again and this morning I was going to drive it to work and I was backing down the driveway and it died on me when I got to the street it took me about 5 or 6 cranks to get it started so I could put it back at the house and now it won’t start at all ! And Ideas would be appreciated!
Post codes if you don't have them download Forscan light four your cell or you can get full version on your lap top(Windows version) These are the best code readers for a 6.0 diesel. $5 dollars in the app store. Then you'll need a Bluetooth dongle to hook up to your ODB11 port in your truck. From what you're describing you need a code reader to even start diagnosing. Guessing gets expensive.
P0231 is often times intermittent, until it isn't.
P2285 is what you get when you try to start with the ICP unplugged. Did you do that?
The reason folks recommend ForScan is because it is better than the Edge products at reading codes. With a 6.0L, it is wise to use any/every advantage you can get ......
Hi Mark on question 1 yes Sir it is intermittent ,and on question 2 yes I did ,just to see if that ICP was bad from the get go ! And I’m trying to find the FORScan for my android phone !
My fuel pump relay (integral to the Central Junction Box, or fuse box, circuit board) acted up intermittently until it failed completely. It threw that code. That failure is the only time I have been stranded, but it made it to within 20 miles of home and I had all the primary parts to run an external relay already purchased.
Not really. You would either have to remove the CJB and send it to CircuitBoardMedics for repair, or run a separate relay for the fuel pump like many of us have done.

Clever. I have not heard of this being done.
Any chance you have a write up or more details on this Mark just for my knowledge base?
I don't use the OEM fuel system anymore but I am interested to see what it entails.
There are many different ways of doing it. External, or if you have a fuel heater relay, rewire so that relay takes it's place, or you can still use the stock relay if it's working to use the fuel heater relay as the "working relay".
Most of the way done on a video, but many are in front of that one.
Here are three. No matter what you do, you want to keep the inertia switch in the loop. Some have not done that.
So guess what I have a bad fuel pump relay no power is going to the inertia switch and I get no fuel in the filter bowl . So I ordered a CJB should be here next week . I wanted to thank everyone for the help much appreciated.
