Front sump oil pan, 302 fitment over crown Vic subframe

I have read a lot of things, and I’m close to stabbing my 302/C4 back in above the crown Vic front end, I will be fanning my lower mounts to bolt in, just wanting to see if it’s doable or should I wait a little longer till I can afford a good rear sump, pickup tube, main stud before I gave it up. Looks like it will be a good 3 inches more room but if I can get it in and get it back in the road I will be putting a different engine in next winter. I prefer to do the replacement engine properly as it will more than likely be a 351w base and will get some higher dollar components and some boost.

make it work, or put it off a bit longer and get a rear sump setup?

If you have any "pick'n'pull" type yards in your area, it shouldn't be that hard to source a pan and the correct oil pump pickup to go with it. And there's always CL or FB Marketplace.
There are even jobber replacement pans available from Co's like Dorman, etc, but when you factor in that you're switching to a 351W later (and the 302 pans do not fit 351W), then finding good used bits for the 302 makes more sense.

Thanks, I have been watching my local stuff, and the only issue i hve with the pick and pulls is my work schedule and when they are open. Harder to get to them and most are like LKQ so you get charged out the *** for stuff, often times new is cheaper on some items. I will be assembling the engine today, all except the oil pan - will stick my current one on there but only hold in place, I still have to go through my transmission but wanted to button the engine up and be completely done. As is i'll probalby hit a pick and pull that is around 40 miles south of me so i can get the main stud as well to hold on the oil pickup tube at the same time and mabye be picky and get a dipstick tube as mine won't work.
