Remove the tailgate and use four of the mounting holes to plave lifting rings. A standard 2 ton cherry picker (engine lift) will work especially if you extend the arm a few inches beyond the longest (1/2 ton) setting (no retaining bolt).
Excellent! That photo shows the same hoist that I have. That proves that I can do it. I will use the 2x4 system, and will lengthen the lift arm a few inches first. Thanks to both members for the info. K
Yes bump bed but you get the point.
How mikeo0o0o0 rigged it to weight it. 397 lbs.

This is the way. I built a similar "H" frame out of uni-strut and mounted 2 "J" hooks on the center beam I can attach an engine leveler too so I can adjust the bed as I lift it. Just slide the ends of the "H" under the bed rails on each side and C-clamp them on. I drilled an extra hole in my engine hoist boom so I could extend it about 6" further and put 4-6 cinderblocks on the back of it for counterbalance. I can move the hoist with the bed lifted, but it's really sketchy, so I lift the bed and drive the truck out from under it ,then put it down on stands or dollies. I've removed/installed the beds on my project truck and my DD multiple times this way just in the last year or so.
