I have 150K on my 2011 F-250 SD 6.2
I have noticed I am about half-way on the dip stick from top mark to bottom of normal range, between oil changes.
Is that normal?
Overfilling is bad right?
ole dude one time told me,, when a ford is not leaking oil it cause it's out of oil.. LOL.. the top and bottom of the cross hatch is normal range.
when you get toward the bottom and have 1000 or so mile till change I add a half qt or less.. I usually go 5k in my diesel but it has a bypass filter as well..
I am now using Lucas oil stabilizer additive after I noticed it was consuming more oil. I just give it a few squirts of the stuff no need to put very much at all. You will see an increase in gas mileage and power and decreased oil consumption. Although it works for me use it at your own risk.
Thanks guys.....truck doesn't get much use, a few short hops, then most of the yearly miles are towing my bumper pull travel trailer, about 5 to10k each year. I use 5/20 all synthetic.
