Ok guys and gals I ended up getting a 2011 f250 with the 6.2 in it that was a farm truck that only has a hard 40k miles. But the BIG issue is that mice got in it and ate some wires. Is the any way to bipass certain things to get the truck to run? What about just to turn over? And help is appreciated.
thanks
I would suggest to start with getting a ODB-ii connector for laptop use. They make both wired and wireless models. Get a program called Forscan. It will allow you to access the computers of the truck for less cost than taking it to a shop. The other main point of this is to see what is working and what is not. There are on line companies out there in which you can pay a small fee to access the technical docs on the vehicle in question. Basically having the shop manual at your finger tips. I believe it is called Mitchell DIY. Itis the same company the provides the service to independent shops and the like.
Unfortunately with rodent damage, chances are you are going to need to replace wiring harness(es) to see what is wrong. Usually that requires a bit of leg work to perform. Just performing visual inspections on things. Find what is wrong. Now you could use the refrence I made above to see if you can troubleshoot faster. Unfortunately, wiring issues usually take time. Since the these trucks all use computers and wiring, you are at that mercy of time and looking.
