Blower motor problems

Ok folks, I replaced my second speed resistor today, this time it didn't work. Blower surges, all speeds then doesn't run at all.
My question is, did I get a bad resistor, genuine Ford part, or is motor shot? Anyone got experience with this problem?
Thanks for looking.

My 2cents......just replaced my high mileage 13 yesterday.........I noticed some months ago the motor had a slight vibration hum to it...It quit last week....Bought a used one from a wrecker( $50.oo) In my case the resister was ok so just the motor.... You can hot wire the motor in the trk..........Put power to the wire with the red stripe & ground the other terminal.....If motor spins freely & high it is ok ?? Those 2 terminals are super close together so be careful hooking up the ground !!!
Just a heads up take the rear screw out first....It is a bitch & you have to roll back the carpet to get to it !!! I also removed the seat....With seat removed you can actually see the rear bolt....I used a 8 mil short wrench to remove that bolt by rocking it softly & turning it maybe an inch (it is a pita out & back in)
When all 3 screws are out remember which way it came out...again it is a tight fit especially getting it in...Motor itself probably took a short hour (I'm 75) Good Luck !!
