Hey Truck U, How did the EVT Controller replacement work. I am still having the same problem with mine after they replaced the Exhaust Pressure Sensor. Now they say that they can't do anything because they can't duplicate the problem. BULL___T, I told them it was probably the EVT Controller and they said they can't replace it because there isn't any error codes or a tech bulletin telling them to do so. So much for service. I am really disappointed about the whole situation. Any advice will help.
Don't be too hard on the dealer, just in the last year or so Ford has told their dealers to curtail installing parts without proving failure. To the extent that Ford gets every part replaced, if it tests good they charge back the dealer for it.....not saying the dealer isn't working hard enough but go in and drive with the tech, make the truck show symptom and they will have to address problem....

Good comment in defense of the "credible" dealers. Be sensative...
Well, they replaced the EVT Controller and the truck still does it. They said they weren't going to touch it until an engineer had a look at it. They installed a "Flight Recorder" and I am supposed to press the red button every time the engine surges under acceleration. I think this last time of talking to the Owner of the Dealership helped. I wasn't to hard on the service guys. I own a Heating and Cooling company and know all about service, and how hard it can be to diagnose problems. My frustrations are with the people that are working on my truck that don't give a damn. They kept my truck for two days because they had a hard time duplicating the problem the first morning and let it sit while the tech was at home sick. I lose $65 per hour that the truck sits in there shop. They should have called me right away and I would have come and picked up the truck. Then put it to work. All said to this point I have lost $8200.00 (approx.) in lost revenue due to the lack of attention this dealer provides. I can't change dealers in the middle of this problem because it would be counter-productive. I'll keep you posted. It appears that I have their attention and they appear to be determined to get this problem fixed. I HOPE!
Originally posted by kl23hwk I have a 2003 F-250 6.0. Do not know when it was manufactured. I took my truck in for the Irractic Idle problem. They reprogrammed cpu and replaced O2 sensor. I got it back and thought I noticed less power and worse gas mileage. Mentioned it to the Service Manager and he said I was probable wrong and the reprogram had no adverse effects. I have been reading all the stuff posted and and do not know what I should do. I do not want to be stuck with a poorely running, problem child for a truck. Their is still a little bit of idle problem but nothing like what it was before. Can anyone give me some advice. Also, where do I find the Water fuel seperator and do I need to change fuel filter at the same time. My service dept says I do...my old diesal I did not have to change fuel filter at same time.
