Ok, ran a couple of Forscan screens. For the most part everything looks normal. BUT, I have NO crank or cam position sensor sync OR FICM sync. Voltages look good. Oil and fuel pressure are normal. ICP and IPR appear to be normal. Still NO RPM reading. Still wont start. Also, I did a crank with fuel timing and noticed a gap between sensor readings. Is that normal? I have never looked at that before.

Is there a way to select for a reading on just the crank and cam sensors in Forscan? I don't seem to see it. Thanks, B.

You should be able to graph the output of the CMP or CKP with ForScan. I have to admit though - I have not done it. AE will do it.

That's what I thought Mark, but I don't see it listed. All I see is the sync option, which only gives me a yes or no answer. Will need to dig further. I just ran a scan of the RPMs during cranking. Screen attached. RPMs are erratic and very low according to the diagnostic data. BUT, the engine is cranking around 170 RPMs per my ear/sight/sound. B.

See page 10 on this link (might take a bit to load it all). It says to always troubleshoot Cam/Crank sync before FICM sync, so that's where i'd start...

Thanks jokester. I saw that file on another thread recently and had already saved it to my documents. But thanks anyway, because someone in the future might be looking for help and run across this thread but not the other thread. So it's all good.

I went ahead and changed the crank position sensor. She fired up and runs like a charm. Now to see if she does that consistently over the next few weeks. Then I might feel more comfortable the problem was solved. Time will Tell. B.
