The dual alternator gets hard to find info on, it runs through the pcm and from what I can find the "I" wire should be at battery voltage. Mine is not, I is constantly 1volt lower. I think I still have resistance somewhere but it is charging normal, only it gets that code instantly.
at some point I will track it down, if it stops charging on me at least I know I can make it charge.

Thanks eveyone

That volt lower on the "I" wire might be ok. I went out and measured mine again just now with engine running, and it varied from 10V to 13.3V, while B+ was 14.6V. I may have a pigtail/wiring issue, but those readings are in the "ballpark" of normal, and the alternator is putting out based on the voltage readings.

This is what I measured at one point when the alternator was not working - a new regulator/brush set and slipring fixed the issue. If yours gets to the point of not charging, these alternators are simple to rebuild.

Dang. That table looks so professional I thought it came out of the FSM at first.

Small update,
Watched the "I" terminal voltage for awhile and finally caught it, the voltage dropped to 1.5v while the alternator was still charging, amp clamp, then quickly spiked back up to its normal low voltage. That was enough for me to throw a new Bosch alternator at it.
code is gone, has not come back, still an issue with wiring but I don't care enough to dig more into it right now.
Need to order some parts to fix the old one now. Less than a year old, I think it was an acdelco
