I need help. I have a 1992 F-150 302. It started as a small miss under load. I have replaced the ignition module, the stator in the distributor, the TPS, coolant temp. sensor, new plugs, new plug wires. At certain RPM's it will miss bad until I give it more gas and then it goes on. This does not happen all the time. I try to pull codes and it shows good. I don't know where to go from here.
If it isn't the fuel pump(codes), you might try the cap/rotor replacement. A bad cap or moisture build up in the cap can cause these symptoms. If it happens and goes away then this may be it. Let us know what you find it the cap isn't the problem. Later
I had the same problem with my 93 F-150 with a 302. Had a small skip under load. After 3 months of trying everything I could think of, I found out that I had reversed two of the plug wires when I replaced my wires and plugs. Switched them back and it ran like a champ. Might be worth a shot.
I replaced the plug wires this year on '94 F-150 with 302. I noticed that there is a warning decal under the hood showing the correct spark plug wiring paths to minimize the potential for cross firing of certain cylinders. I followed these instructions and have never had any miss firing issues. Don't know if this would help but I thought it worth mentioning.
