Cab Clearance Lights

Hey all,

I am toying with installing cab clearance lights on my 97 F350 single rear wheel. I wasn't a fan of them originally but they have grown on me the more I see other trucks outfitted with them. The one thing I don't like about the placement on the OBS trucks is the even spacing across the lights. I prefer the 1-3-1 spacing seen below. I have already found the lights I like but was wondering if anyone has installed their lights with the 1-3-1 spacing and could post pictures? Also wanted to know the best way to keep them water tight?

I was wondering if you have to ruin the head liner to install them. Or can the wiring route at the top of the windshield inside trim. I could not find any YouTube videos showing an OBS install where existing cab lights weren't previously there.

There is plenty of space above the headliner for the wiring.
You just have to drop the front trim down. The connector to connect the lights to is a 2 wire unused connector in the pass kick panel.

Op, I never understood where the 1-3-1 pattern vs 5 seperate spaces equally came from. Personally if you like it then that's your deal,go for it. I haven't seen any pics of it that way tho.

Cool, the wiring is already there. Does the headliner need to be removed or damaged? Or does the wiring rise through the roof directly above the trim?

the plug is there at kick panel. You can run the wire up the a-pillar between plastic and metal and under headliner. All you do is have the liner down enough for access. You won't damage liner .

Yeah it seems like Ford was one of the few to space them out evenly on the OBS trucks. Personally, I think that makes it look like the truck is wearing a tiara. I am not 100% sold on installing the lights but definitely wouldn't space them out evenly. I'd like to see what they look like in the 1-3-1 configuration before drilling holes in the roof.

Thanks for the link. Awesome to see that I don't have to damage or disturb the headliner.
