door vent question

door vent question
On the inside of the doors on my 95 XL there are vents in the back lower corners. They look like a heat register vent. What purpose do these vents serve. They just seem to be useless. Anyone know?

Those vent let air escape the cab when you shut the door. It makes closing the doors easier and less pain for the passengers without the sudden pressure increase.

That and it allows the doors ventilation to dry out as well.
