love my expedition but i have two problems and i was just wondering if you guys have any insight. 1) my AC works great but it barely barely comes out of the two vents on the passenger side.. all other vents are fine but those two and 2) my "door ajar" light comes on whenever the passenger door is opened, it eventually turns off but everytime the door is opened the alert comes on. if you guys could help at all id really appreciate it : )
Have you checked the bezel ring around the vent to make sure it's twisted to the open position? If you twist it one way, it shuts off the air, and the other way opens it.
For the doors, there's a switch that sticks in the door latch mechanism (the part that latches around the little post in the door frame). Just take some WD40 and give it a good spray in the door latch mechanism. I had the same problem w/ my '03 and that fixed it. I did all the doors.
thank you! that definetly helps with the door but yeah, the vent is totally open. it releases an extremely little flow of air but its like someone is behind the vent blowing air thats how little comes out. and just those two which is even weirder.
One of the automatic baffles must be stuck. You know when you switch from face to floor or defrost it moves a bunch of baffles inside to redirect the air flow to different areas. I'm guessing that the passenger side has a stuck baffle. Have you tried switching it to floor and face a couple of times really quick to see if it changes? Which climate control do you have?
