Definitely for longevity. Recore. The old ones held up. The aluminum ones look nice and people say they don’t rust which is true but aluminum does corrode. Once you get that repair is questionable.

I have a summit 4 row aluminum radiator in my 76 with a 390. I think it was a little under $400 and it blows the stock one out of the water. I had an issue trying to break the engine/cam in where it was overheating sitting there on a hot day running. The summit radiator would keep it cool at idle indefinitely even before I got a fan shroud to go on it. I believe it's this one https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-384025 . Basically drops right in
