I made the same mistake when I was new. Its in the Forum Guidelines. I wasn't trying to be harsh or anything. But he was soliciting someone to sell something, which isn't allowed on the forums and suggests he should check the classifieds. I should have put more explanation with it but hoped it would be self explanitory, just cut in paste.

You see this type of question all the time on this board. Isn't there a moderator to handle this type of issue any way? It all comes down to too many Chiefs......

Not trying to flame you at all, just expressing my observation.

Questions like this one can be kinda tricky.
unreal105 asked if anyone knew where to get the airdam which is fine but asking if anyone has one to sell should be done in the classified.
I'm going to edit the post to get rid of the "ad" part of it.

It's good when users that have been around a while, like both aldridgec and rikfish, point out things to the newbies that will help them. Sometimes we all post things on here that can be taken as being too critical or whatever and some things arent always taken as they are meant. I guess in this case aldridgec could have explained it a little better, like he said, and maybe that would have sounded less harsh. At least we didnt scare unreal 105 off
I dont mind if any of you tell others here how things should be done but if it gets more serious than that there is always the "report this post to a moderator" link where an admin or moderator will look after the problem. Thats what we get paid for. Oh wait...we dont get paid
Never mind

Alot of times new guys don't quite understand "why" a post was edited or even deleted because of what they asked. I figured he hadn't understood or maybe even read the guidelines (so i have to AGREE to post a quesiton, whatever it says...oh wait there is something in there about giving my truck to FTE as payment for the priveledge....!!). I took me a few times to actually get the gist of what they meant and how that fit into the content of the board. Moderators can only see so much at once. Pointing out those rules, which are 1st for a reason, is no different than helping with anything else.

You might try asking this in the aftermarket products forum on here. Give some time to generate some responses too.
