Does anyone know how much current is produced by the TFI module? Some time ago I relocated my module off of the distributor and mounted it on a heatsink on the side of the engine bay. I was thinking I might need to find some three conductor cable with each wire individually shielded and needed to know what gauge wire I could get away with. I’d think it would be a very small amount, but I’ve been wrong before. Thanks.
The factory did not do it that fancy
They did have tin foil shielding
You would be a hero if you did it
Not sure about the actual current, but basic wiring will work
I would put whatever wires you use in convolute tubing (the black plastic wire shielding tubing)
You just try to make yours look clean and factory
Look at a newer truck or van and see their wiring
The stuff on my 94 van is all taped and shielded well with the convolute and the tin foil
The shielding is mainly to protect the signal from secondary (plug) wire induced voltage and radio interference
Try to keep your primary wiring away from any plug or coil wires
