5.4 vs. Diesel

The only way I would go with a 5.4 gas is if it had an intake, exhaust, chip/tuner and most importantly a supercharger! THen a 5.4 would run like a v-10 or diesel. No supercharger=no power............Got to have the forced induction or forget the 5.4! Oh yeah 1 more thing, change the gears to 4.56's. Geez looking at all those mods, you could just buy a 6.0 diesel................

The fuel octane should not make a difference. The only difference is that it's costing you more money. The 5.4L V8 and the 6.8L V10 are designed for 87 Octane, which means if you put in any higher, all you do is cost yourself more money... It's not BAD for it, but it DOESN'T help. Now if it was the other way, and you had a vehicle that says it's designed for 93 Octane, and you put in 87 Octane, THAT'S NOT GOOD!!
