I broke off the ccv bolts trying to do some mods. I ended up getting one out but I can’t get the second from farthest bolt no matter what I did. I tried drilling it out with new bits but those bolts are tough so I ended up using jb weld. I don’t feel too bad since the back opening doesn’t have much pressure at all but it will get hot so I’m not sure what to do now for this. I can get the jb weld off when it’s time I bet but I still have the issue with the bolt that is broke off inside the hole.
what would you do Besides not being a ******* for breaking bolts
If you mean the bolts that hold down the CCV filter, seems like there are plenty of bolts holding that thing down to the valve cover, I would think that the one furthest at the back shouldn't be that much of problem keeping that filter in place.
Why not try running it with all of the other bolts installed and tightened, and see if you spot any oil leaks. If no leaks then it's not critical to drill out that busted-off bolt, and you can address it permanently later, should you get an OCD attack...
Thanks man! I actually replaced the ccv with the SPE kit so it’s a pretty basic little plate that is bolted down on one side.
I hear cobalt bits do a good job. The titanium ones wouldn’t hard remove anything.
it looks good but the temps in the summer concern me but as of now, it seems fine but looks like crap. The new wobble extensions and u joint but gave me some false hope on getting those out. The furthest one came out no problem but the one closest to it seemed like it was welded in there.
We ran a small engine repair business for many years and breaking small bolts happened a lot. We used left hand drill bits and a lot of time they would back out the remaining bolt as pressure was received on the sides.

Ah, then you don't have anything to worry about. I've got the same thing, but opted for the longer hose to run further behind the cab. No oil drips, nada. Occasionally get some water condensation drip a few drops during winter temps, but otherwise I'm glad I got the kit. You will smell like you're driving a diesel occasionally, but that's because you are, lol...
You might be able to use an easy-out bit, and some patience. There are also right-angle drill heads that could make the job easier. I think I spent something like 15 or 20 bucks on mine, and it's worth it for times when you can't get a drill into a tight spot.

tight spot is right! Arms are beat to crap! I tried a few easy outs and one came out without really trying that hard. Looking at an induction tool to heat it up. I’m pretty new at welding but I got really close to trying. If it wasn’t so far back, I would gave it a shot but the piece that’s in there will likely never come out since there is 0 maintenance so probably just time to move to another project.
