Truck has to be started by jumping battery any time it is shut off. Once it's started it will run and stay running for however long. But if it's turned off it hast to be boosted to start again.
Once running can disconnect the battery and it will run fine off the alternator.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions
Thanks
Charge the battery with a plug in charger. Then get a testlight, take the negative battery cable off and lay it on a rag, and hook the lead from the testlight to the end laying on the rag, and touch the testlight probe to the battery negative. Make sure everything is off and the doors are closed. When you touch the probe to the battery negative, if the testlight lights up bright you have a drain in the system.
If you have a drain you can pull fuses till the light goes out. If none of the fuses makes the light go out, you can pull the wires off the alternator and see if the light goes out.
