Mag-Hytec Tranny pan and Diff covers
has anyone added either the Mag-Hytec transmission pan or differential covers to their rigs? are they worth it to put them on with the added fluid capacity and cooling? does the transmission pan hang significantly low?? I figuerd that when the time comes to change the tranny oil maybe in a year, i will do that and the differentil covers. let me know what you think.

mat-hytec diff cover
I have had the rear differential cover for quite awhile on my '02. It has worked just fine--the diff seems cooler to the touch after a long run with my trailer.
One thing, all the bolts worked loose after about 20,000 miles and it started leaking. Tightening them again fixed this.
I am fixing to take it off my V10 and put it on the new 350 6.0.

I have both the tranny pan and the diff cover on mine. I like them.......my tranny never gets too hot, but I didn't have my gauges before the pan so I'm not sure how big a difference it made. Doesn't really hang to low.
On the diff cover I like that it has the drain plug and magnetic dipstick.
Hope this helps.

I had both covers on a '99 F350 dually. The tranny gauge had a bottom reading of 140º. It rarely moved off the peg till around 75k miles. It then started to read up to 175º on the uphill run to my house. I figured the tranny was getting ready for a rebuild and traded for an '03 6.0. Big mistake-Ford just bought it back. I didn't have a diff temp gauge so I have no info for you there. I checke with MagHytech and they are not in production yet for the Torque Shift tranny. They were doing a pre-production run of 13 units the last time I checked.
