Towing screen fix

Hey there ! Long time ago someone posted how to fix the instrument cluster when you start the truck and the towing screen is up . I tried to find it. When I turn my truck on , towing screen is there and I have to scroll back over to gauges every single time . Can someone please remind me how to fix this? Thanks !

Leave your truck running when you unplug your trailer

If it still happens, I manually disconnect from the trailer, from the towing setup screen.

That usually keeps it from returning!

Go to the trailer selection screen and unselect the trailer, there should be a no trailer check box. Next time, disconnect the trailer before shutting off the truck so it knows it was disconnected.

your truck must be a 2017-2019. Mine did that, I finally figured it out. When you unplug your trailer from the 7 way pin when the truck is turned off, then start it back up it doesnt reset the dash. The towing guage always shows and it also logs trailer miles while you drive not towing.

the fix is plug your truck back into your trailer 7 way pin, Leave truck running, then unplug your trailer from the 7 way pin.
always discconect your truck from the trailer with the truck running from now on and it will not get stuck in towing mode screen.

I plug in and unplug a trailer several times a week 6 months of the year with the truck not running. I don’t have the trailer screen popping up at restart.
I just hauled a trailer 1300 miles on vacation. Unplugged it yesterday on a not running truck and dropped the trailer. No trailer screen at restart.
