Can anyone tell me were to locate the trailer brake harness connection plug under the dash. I just purchase a 2000 X and need to hookup my electronic trailer brake.

Remove the panel beneath the steering column. That's the panel to get to the fuse box.

The connector is towards the center of the truck, up high. It's a light grey 6 way connector. If you have the pigtail that came with the truck, it's the mate to that connector!

I have an '01 and the connector is behind the fuse door (the one under the wheel with the screw-type latches in each corner) on the right side. My rig came with a plug/pigtail so if you have that, look for the corresponding connector. I hope that helps.
