Replace the ignition module. I just spent 3 weeks trying to get a 1975 f-100 running . I had the Module tested, it tested good so I ended up replacing the coil, the magnetic pickup in the distributor, the starter solenoid, plugs, wires, and then tested them with a meter over and over to make sure they were doing what they were supposed to. I finally broke down and just spent the $16.00 on the module. I hooked it up and the truck started right up.

I drove it for 30 minutes and then it caught on fire due to other problems. It is now back up and running if replacing the module doesn't do it. Let me know here and I will go over all of the other stuff zi checked to help ensure you aren't overlooking anytyhing, but the new module should do the trick Good luck.

Make sure you have voltage on the + of the coil with the key on.

Another guy also had a problem a few days ago in this forum, and after replacing everything, he found the black ground wire coming from the pickup in the dist was not connected firmly under the screw.

That was me, I put it under the screw to firmly and broke the screw off with about only one thread into the hole. That little screw had 6 guys from work me and my father-in-law all racking our brains. The worst part while I was standing with my head under the hood and grumbling my wife asked "Are you sure all of the grounds are good" I said "yes I have checked the grounds they are all good I have checked everything 100 times already and have no darn clue" She sure had fun saying "I told you to check all of the grounds if you would have listended to dumb ole me you would have been driving this thing 4 days ago. Knucklehead" I think she loves me anyone else would have probably called me worse than knucklehaed.
