I'm looking for a sliding rear window for my 95 F150. I see LMC has one but it's heavy tinted and real pricey. Are there any other options for sliders for the OBS trucks?
No bone yards around me to find a used one.
If you are referring to this CR Laurence sliding rear window from LMC, I have one just like it on my truck. It is not deep tinted glass but more close to a factory tint on many vehicles maybe even slightly lighter. I actually have window tint on top of it.
National Parts Depot also has the CR Lawrence sliders. They seem be have lower pricing there as well. And it looks like they have a clear option, but I really don't see why you wouldn't want the lightly smoked glass.
The days of cheap 100 dollar sliding windows from Pep Boys are long gone unless you find a used one on Marketplace or Craigslist.
I pressure washed and reused my original gasket about 5 years ago. These windows use the same seal as the solid glass, but OEM Ford sliders use a different seal.
NPD does have a much better price but they have been out of stock all winter. The LMC window is $314.95 but they throw a $50 oversize shipping charge on top of that plus Uncle Sam's cut. When all is added up the window is just under $400
The picture on the LMC website might be a bit deceiving on the tint level. The description states "smoke" tint, but the picture looks much darker. I'll just keep googling the part numbers. Maybe Ill get lucky one of these days. CR Lawerance seems to be the only one left making them anymore.
I'm guessing the other two inexpensive rear windows at NPD might be discontinued since they are both out of stock. It looks like consecutive part numbers. You could email NPD or CR Laurence and ask about availability.
I think the on LMC has is the same as the one that is in stock at NPD.
Non Tinted Clear F-422B30-2A
Smoke Tinted F-422B30-2B
Smoke Tinted F-422B30-2C
I do remember there used to be at least 5 or 6 different ones. There used to be Duo Vent and Tri Vent. Not sure why it was called Tri Vent siince it had a single slider instead or a pair of sliders, but I guess because it was 3 panes of glass. There also used to be clear, smoke tinted, and solar something.
I'll have to see if I can find a part number for the one I have.
CR Lawrence may have been the only company that ever made them Its the only brand I've ever seen.
I saw the two windows on Ebay this morning. They are both "Or best offer". I'm going to throw him an offer and see how bad he wants to sell it. Thanks!

You mentioned the old pep boys windows. Up here in Wisconsin we had Whitlock auto stores. Same thing. Bunch of cheap questionable auto parts at super discount prices and a warranty not worth the paper it was printed on. Man those were the good old days...
I'm old school. I still think the best AC ever was wing windows open with the rear slider open too.

Even though Pep Boys did have some junky stuff, I liked that place and it had more to choose from than your basic AutoZone. Think they are all closed now except for a few tire centers. I last went to the local Pep Boys for their going out of business sale here when it was closing 2 years ago Definitely the place to go for generic hubcaps. LOL. And I always liked being able to walk through all the new tires and smell the fresh rubber. Kinda depressing like when Sears closed though.
The first sliding window I ever go was at Pep Boys in 1995 or 1996. It was a CR Laurence as well. Think the total installed was around $150 or less. My Dad's truck when I was a kid had a CR Lawrence as well but I don't remember where that was purchased or where it was installed. The last ones I installed myself.
Nothing quite like having the slider open with the windows down except maybe an open top rag top or Jeep. Sometimes I even think a slider is just as much fun as a sun roof.
So in your opinion, what would be the better quality window. The CR Lawrence or the original ford window?
Honestly I like the CRL window better and it has a nice metal latch whereas the OEM Ford one has a sort of funky plastic one. But I wouldn't pass up a Ford window if it was a good deal. I don't like the plastic latch on the newer CRL TriVent though. The old one they had 20 years ago was metal like the DuoVent, but the newer is a less decent plastic one. But I don't think they even make the TriVent anymore anyway.
FYI:
Solar glass is going to have a reflective or mirror like finish on the out side. Probably would look similar to the 92-96 Bronco rear side windows do.

The solar CRL glass is not reflective, but you are right that the Ford windows sometimes had that even on super cab and crew cab rear and rear side windows like the Bronco. I'm not a fan of that look.
You can see it in my avatar and it looks the same as normal smoke tint.
