Anyone put on one of the stick on hood scoops? If you did any pictures and how do you like it? Something like the one pictured. The one in the pic is 500 bucks on Ebay. Do I have to spend that much for a piece of black plastic?
You know, it's funny... my 17 the hood was always moving. I almost never notice it on my 22.
At first I thought it was the bug deflector I installed (catching wind and causing the hood to look like it was going to let loose from the latch), and it did settle down once I removed the deflector. But, it still shakes occasionally at highway speeds. Seems solidly down and secure when I check it, but somehow air is getting under it at speed.
Not sure if it would be an issue if it were made from steel, but it's the only real annoyance I have with the truck. And, not really sure what can be done to eliminate it.

like you said air is getting under. Maybe some sort of seal underneath between the hood and top of the grille would eliminate (or mostly reduce) the movement?

Is the underside of your hood insulated? I've been in some nasty Wyoming crosswinds, headwinds and tailwinds. I've never noticed any wiggle in the hood. Mine does have the insulation under the hood.

My 17 was insulated (6.2L motor) and constant bounced and danced all over the place.
My 22 is not insulated (6.7L motor) and I have only noticed if flutter a couple times under VERY heavy headwinds.
I wonder if the "space" under the hood makes a difference?
That front air dam that we all like taking off helps reduce hood flutter. I learned this from quickly removing the craptastic air dam from my Wrangler the week I bought it. Air gets under the vehicle and presses up on the hood from the engine bay.
I am pretty pissed that the 6.7 of all motors doesn’t have hood insulation. I plan on adding some. I haven’t had problems with hood flutter, but the extra weight should baffle that risk a bit.
First off, my apologies to the OP for the thread hijack, it was not intentional. One final comment then I'm out.
Bump stops check out, hood is solid when pushing down on stops (so not that). I agree with the statement that it's possible that air from underneath is pushing the hood up, as that sounds logical (especially since mine has a level lift, but still retains that huge air dam). So, guess I'm gonna have to live with it, or find a way to somehow redirect that upward air.
