E4OD proper shift pattern?

Hey guys. Another question. What is the proper shift pattern for our trucks with the E4OD?

I feel like my truck drives just fine. Until I have to get on the throttle pulling out in traffic or from a stop if I get on it. Seems like 1-2 it holds rpm’s and shifts nice. But then 3&4th gear the rpm’s go low high low or something weird. I’ll try to get a video of it. Anyways I wish it would hold gears at rpm’s longer. Would something like the banks trans command help this? Maybe a Hydra? Thanks

Maybe the TC not locking up? Does it to like a slip between shifts? (RPM rise while it shifts) could be just a tuning issue.

it doesn’t slip I don’t think. It just shifts too early or something. Or locks unlocks

Reset the TPS and see how it does.

key on, pedal pressed gently to WOT in less than 5 seconds release pedal close key, repeat 2 more times.

It depends 100% on what your calibration code is.

Some calibrations shift earlier, some apply the torque converter clutch at lower accelerator pedal positions than others in 2nd gear, some don't apply the TCC in 3rd gear unless the accelerator is pressed more than 50% and apply it immediately after the 3-4 shift.

Some release the torque converter clutch when the accelerator pedal is released and some leave it applied until the brake pedal is depressed (or 12/30 seconds after the accelerator pedal is released).

There is no one simple answer.

Finally got a video of what the truck is doing while accelerating. Pretty annoying that it won’t hold RPM longer. But maybe this is correct? You guys tell me. Just reset the TPS after this drive. Haven’t driven it yet. Will report back after a while

Looks like that could just be TCC apply. I never like the big rpm drop between locked/unlocked TC. Even more annoying with an aftermarket higher stall TC.

We want TC to lock to bring the rpms down to the torque range.

Is it doing something weird before it actually locks TC?

You can adjust the shifting as you want it with Hydra chip and custom tuning.

I guess I just want it to hold the gear longer because when it shifts up it causes the engine to lug building EGT

Still have the OEM cobra style downpipe?
Ditching it and soot trap(If you have it),helps exhaust flow a bit.

TP38 1.15 AR exhaust housing makes the EGT worse at lower rpms. But it shines in the upper end.
