Hey guys. Another question. What is the proper shift pattern for our trucks with the E4OD?
I feel like my truck drives just fine. Until I have to get on the throttle pulling out in traffic or from a stop if I get on it. Seems like 1-2 it holds rpm’s and shifts nice. But then 3&4th gear the rpm’s go low high low or something weird. I’ll try to get a video of it. Anyways I wish it would hold gears at rpm’s longer. Would something like the banks trans command help this? Maybe a Hydra? Thanks
Some calibrations shift earlier, some apply the torque converter clutch at lower accelerator pedal positions than others in 2nd gear, some don't apply the TCC in 3rd gear unless the accelerator is pressed more than 50% and apply it immediately after the 3-4 shift.
Some release the torque converter clutch when the accelerator pedal is released and some leave it applied until the brake pedal is depressed (or 12/30 seconds after the accelerator pedal is released).
Finally got a video of what the truck is doing while accelerating. Pretty annoying that it won’t hold RPM longer. But maybe this is correct? You guys tell me. Just reset the TPS after this drive. Haven’t driven it yet. Will report back after a while
Looks like that could just be TCC apply. I never like the big rpm drop between locked/unlocked TC. Even more annoying with an aftermarket higher stall TC.
