So I picked up my 2022 F-450 in October and immediately hooked up my 5th wheel and went on a trip. I got to my cousin's house noticed my halogen headlights were useless out in the country. When I kicked on the high beams they seemed even worst than the low beams. Fast forward, I installed auxiliary Ditch Lights/A-pillar lights on the truck so I can see. I used this harness from Custom Auto Works to trigger a relay to power the aux lights when I turn on my high beams. While aiming them, I noticed only the upper part of each headlight was working regardless of high or low setting. Has anyone else had this issue? I've heard others say the halogens suck, but with only half of them working they really suck! I've got an email out to CAW to see what they say.
I'd pull that harness apart and make sure you know what it's actually doing. I have 4 Rigid cubes on a light bar that are triggered the same way yours are, they cycle with the high beams. I did not use a harness, I just tapped into my high beam wire to trigger the relay (I ran it through a switch also so I can kill the aux. lights if I want to). With the switch on, they'll cycle with the high beams. I never experienced the issue you're describing. Pull the harness and see if the issue persists and check your fuses.
I agree that the stock halogens are terrible. I went with a drop in LED kit and have been much happier with the output. I'm running the SV4 kit from Headlight Revolution. I don't get flashed and have no issues passing inspection each year.
Claims like this simply baffle me... My halogens are so damn bright I get flashed constantly in the country. On high beam it is like daylight with more than enough range to easily drive the trucks top speed. You guys thinking you need a bunch of aftermarket lights crack me up. My halogens are so bright I never run with the fogs on because every car will flash me then. Being 30 miles from the nearest real town in a sparsely populated county means it gets really dark here too... Best of luck getting your aftermarket stuff to work...lol

Yep. Never a problem with them either. When I read they suck, I think maybe someone needs cataract surgery.

Then I guess that would be dozens or more on this forum and probably several thousand across the country not necessarily on the forums.
Because you have a different view of a situation doesn't mean that it's non existent.

I can only assume they didn't have a vehicle in the 1980's or 90's... We drove with crappy sealed beams for decades and somehow managed to survive it. The halogens on my truck are several times more effective than the lights I grew up on. The drama surrounding these lights is comical.
Certainly people see things a little differently. What I can not do is the blue tone of light from LEDs, especially in the winter. That color is almost painful for me and the reflections obnoxious. The warmer color of the halogens is MUCH easier on my eyes and the eyes of 99% of the people coming at me. It means I can see better...
What we might be suggesting is that it isn't the trucks actual lights that are deficient, because that is an unsupportable position, but peoples perceptions and expectations are different. I admit to not understanding what they b1tch about, to each his own but the notion that continues to be forwarded, despite being inaccurate, is that the halogens suck.
Everyone's senses differ. Personally I have no complaints with the standard halogen setup on the SuperDuty, but I do acknowledge that the LEDs are significantly better and understand someone else who's optics dont filter and process lighting the same as mine would want a brighter projection. I do however object to those morons who run around with their LED light strips on just because they feel it makes them look cool.

I can't speak for others. I'm 60 years old and begin my driving life with a 1969 Chevy C10 in 1978. So I've been around a little bit and have experienced the headlights of the past that you mention.
Being on my 4th Super Duty of this generation I've seen both halogen and aftermarket LED. In my eyes it's a huge difference. I know that there are many who argue against this method of improving headlights. But that's a debate they can have with someone else.
I guess what I don't get is the "I can see fine with halogen so you must be blind" bit that some are running here. Some things just aren't one size fits all.
My 2022 SD’s four low and high beam stock halogens put out plenty of light. People that complain about the halogens must be blind. They’re even better when you enable the fog lights with the high beams in Forscan.
What I don’t like is when someone levels the truck and doesn’t adjust the headlights down or the worst is when they install those blinding LED bulbs in the halogen fixtures.

On my F150 XL halogens, I adjusted them to where they should aim and the lighting is much better. When I have more time, I am going to inspect the housing to figure out if the high beam portion can be adjusted separately from the low beam.
