Hey folks,

I have a 2012 F150 with about 130k miles. I’m having issues with my AC mode selector in my truck. It’s stuck blowing air out of the defrost/foot vents and can’t be changed to front vents.

I assumed it was the actuator, so I took out the old and replaced with a new one. Before fully installing, I just hooked up the electrical connector to verify that the new one worked properly. The first time I tested it the actuator gear moved when I pushed the mode button, so I assume the new actuator isn’t a problem.

I manually turned the gears attached to the vent doors and it moved without issue. So I don’t think that’s a problem either.

After further button pushing, the actuator gear would only move when the defrost/foot mode was selected. But not on every cycle. It appeared random. This leads me to believe the issue is electrical. Has anyone had a similar experience? Were you able to resolve it?
