2019 F-250, warning light help. So annoying!

Hey about 1 year ago I cleaned out my trailer plug with electrical cleaner. After I did that every time I hit the brake it would say trailer disconnected, then once I let go of the brake it says trailer connected, With NO trailer connected. It did this for a few days then stopped. But now every time it rains it happens again for about 1-2 days. It’s so annoying. Anyone have any ideas? I would think it’s a simple fix and wanted to see if anyone else had this problem. Blown fuse? A short? I’m not sure. But it is the most annoying thing ever because it chimes.

Are you sure that the plug up near the spare tire is completely clear of corrosion? That spot is known for water intrusion. And I've personally seen it create all kinds of weird gremlins. Had one replaced under warranty on a 2017 I used to own.

after you cleaned it out, did you fill it with dielectric grease?? I ended up going around truck and cleaning and dielectric greased any unused connectors and my gremlins went away.

The number and frequency of warning chimes in these trucks is beyond ridiculous. I have to scroll through almost a half dozen when I hook up my snow plow, just to tell me things I already know.

In your case though the common denominator was liquid. You had the problem when you sprayed out the plug and now when it rains. Water is getting in somewhere causing a short. I think the advice to get under the back of the truck and start going through the connections is sound.

Yes I did! But that’s what ended up causing the problems

go in there and wipe it dry, then put the connection together and see what you get.
