Diagnosing A problem
I have a 2003 excursion with a 6.0 diesel and about 2 months ago now when I would start the truck up it would have rough start and then would proceed to dump out white smoke. I was able to drive the truck to a shop about a mile away and it was just rough drive there. They where able to grab a code and it said high pressure oil pump but my thoughts on that would be if it wasn’t working the truck wouldn’t run I was thinking more of an IPR or ICP sensor. I’m looking for more insight on what it could be or if I’m looking in the wrong direction. The oil pump shouldn’t be bad it is a bullet proof high pressure pump and I refuse to believe that it would have gone bad. Thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.
