Probably going to give my truck a tune up soon. I'm planning on getting the regular Motorcraft copper plugs as they seem to be recommended a lot on here.
But I haven't heard much about what type/brand of plug wires, cap, and rotor are best in these trucks. I'm not for an upgrade from stock. Would there be any reason to go above stock for these things? Or just stay with all motorcraft factory parts?
When I got my truck two years ago I went to a few performance shops and the Ford dealership and asked if the Ford ignition parts were sufficient. All three told me the Ford ignition parts were high quality and none of the aftermarket ignition parts would upgrade the system.
Just my thoughts on the subject.
I am running a MSD Blaster coil. It works just fine, but I can say, I am sure the Motorcraft one works just as good if not better. I figured I would give the MSD a shot. Been a year with no issues.
With that said, I am with the majority. Go with good old Motorcraft parts.
