I believe I'll make one. Seems simple enough. Local pick and pull had some plugs I can cut out of a truck couple weeks ago when I pulled hpop and stuff off it. Time to go back.
how many miles.. how many years.. there comes a point when you just say screw it and install all new stock injectors as a part of your preventative maintenance on any diesel. no different then changing the spark plugs on a 5.4, the engine in a chevy or the tranny in a dodge.

no free rides folks...
Every diesel engine rebuild I ever quoted for the VW/Audi shop that I ran for 40 years always included a set of rebuilt Bosch injectors. They are a wear item like brakes.
i decided to say F*** it. im towing it to a buddys house who has a lift bay today and going to spend the next few weekends either pulling the engine or pulling the cab. going to do a full cleanup on the engine, pull injectors and replace the cups and injectors. replace the hpop lines and probably the hpop while its all out. probably just going to pull the engine so i can flip it upside down and replace the oil pan gasket as well. tired of working on this thing under the hood id like to get up close and personal with the sob

that is quite a project, but it seems like a good way to get everything done in on shot and be done messing with it for a while. I recently did similar, except I just cleaned up another low mile engine and swapped it in, made for minimal downtime, and I had the engine on hand.
With just 200k on the clock it seems early to have to do all that, pulling the engine, etc. My '99 has 237K on the clock and I haven't done anything but change fluids and filters. Well, I took the driver's side valve cover off and changed the harness and glow plugs while in there. I was chasing my tail and it ended up being the in tank filters that were clogged and the foot had fallen off.
I've got a bus with the 7.3 that probably needs injectors though. Anytime it sits for more than a few days it takes LOTs of cranking to her going. However she has 285k miles and 19k hours on the engine. It's the idle time that has hurt this engine. With that said I drove it 1,500 miles (30 foot bus loaded down), pulling a '78 F100 from Albuquerque to East TN and she did great! Plenty of power when she wanted. She has been parked about 1.5 years now and has been serving as a storage shed and I have a spare engine to play with when I get the gumption. I have two buses with the 7.3 and my F350.
Back to your truck. Perhaps a previous owner skimped on maintenance... spend your money on good injectors. OEM only on new sensors. Did you mention what brand your sensors are?
havent looked at the thread in awhile. the truck was a 1 owner grandpa garaged truck. he had a full maintenance record in it along with sharpie all over the core support stating what has been replaced and the mileage it was done at. the dealership had no idea it had a brand new transmission in it. i bought it at 110k. but through 110k he had replaced ALOT. the truck was a lemon. he had to replace the transmission at 80k and the truck has zero signs of ever having a chip. the leaf springs snapped while pulling a light trailer when i was at 160k. i had to replace the radiator at 130k. injector seals burnt up at 150k. its just been non stop issues with more than just the engine. took a week vacation to go fishing on my birthday at around 150k and instead spent 2 days in the driveway pulling the front axle shafts out because one of the pumpkin seals went out. just an unlucky truck
