So I just recently spoke with 1023 diesel and I'm interested with their state 1 package (stage 1 injectors, hydra chip, stage 1 kc turbo). I currently have s&b cold air intake, 3" down, bellowed uppies, ebv delete on my CCLB with 260k. What kind of increased horsepower should I see roughly? Anybody have done this? My hpop puts out 2700psi WOT and I have the stock fuel system which these two items will need to be upgraded in the future. 1023 Diesel stated that I should only see 220hp total. Seemed low but they are the experts and would know more than I. That number is disappointing for spending 3k. Any similar experiences?
Im pretty sure 97 Powerstroke came out of the box with 225HP. So with injectors and a tune you are losing 5hp. Although Im sure this a wheel vs crank discrepancy.
You sure he didn't say 320 WHP? Are stage 1's 160/0 injectors or something different? If it's 160/0 those are good for 320-340 HP to the wheels from what I've read and by the feel of the *** Dyno.
Well, when he said 220, I told him having 220 HP is disappointing. He stated that these trucks really only puts out 170 hp completely stock. Unless he meant 220 plus the 170 but I doubt it. I tried to clarify with him during the conversation. They did say that the hpop and stock fuel system was a limiting factor which I understand.
During the conversation I was not sure if I should go stage 1 or 1.5. but he was stating that the difference between the 2 injectors would be so minimal that unless running a hot tune with WOT would I notice a difference. I was thinking 1.5's to have a little extra power in the future for upgrades. I didn't want to do anything beyond because I not doing head studs or any other serious retrofitting to the motor.
Bitterroot; He also said that 1023 doesn't do tuning as of now. What you mean 1023 tuning with FFD are not good choices?
1023 probably means Rear Wheel HP, stock 97s I think are 225 at the crank… figure 15-20% driveline loss.
Nuther notion as I recall 2.3 HP per CC of injector size is = to crank HP. So my 97 ZF-5 with 205/30 injectors looks something like this 205x2.3 = 471 x.85 for D line loss = 400 RWHP. Rough and dirty. As my injectors are 30% overs stock nozzles might be a little more power pending programming and HPOP pressures.

220 is lousy wheel hp. I did 200 on stock 320k stixs and stock turbo.
Rosewood 160 stage ones ,efuel, t500 and be done.. it will make enough egt to be dangerous
